3rd annual BAFMP Music Awards - mon 29th dec

THE INITIAL shortlist for the third annual Barrow And Furness Music
Project’s original awards has been released.

Billed by many as The Barrow Brit Awards – this is the local music
scene’s biggest night as the not or profit music association
recognizes the best in the region’s musical talents. Not to be
confused with the excellent Search For A Star and Battle of the Bands
competitions, later this month (Monday December 29th) sees the
Canteen is laid out in the style of typical awards night a presenter
bringing special guests on stage to present the awards with twin video
screens showcasing highlights the best acts and cabaret style tables
and chairs in front of a small dance floor to give it a real sense of
occasion.
The deadline for entries for the Song of the Year and Best CD are
Tuesday December 23 but shortlist for all of the other awards are
already taking shape (see box).
At the event four top Furness-based acts will also take to the stage
and perform at the event with Code:Jack 43p Short, The Line-Up and
Dropping Point all confirmed with just the headline act to be
confirmed. But it is the awards that take centre stage

Tickets for the big awards bash are priced £5 are available from Kates
Skates and Scotts in Barrow, or from the Canteen (01229 822113) or
Working Class Heroes and Inspirations Two in Ulverston.
