Friday also has the Airborne toxic event at the canteen
This LA act is all over Radio One, MTV and the national press (mentioning how much they were looking forward to playing Barrow in the Daily Star’s gossip pages on Friday!). The band is described as Arcade Fire meets The Smiths and are currently wowing audiences across the UK As part of their 30 gigs in 30 days tour. Support on the night comes form The Hollywood Ten (solo) and Barrow’s own indie favs The Mooncats.
The Canteen booked the Airborne Toxic Event just before they have really hit the big time and have managed to keep ticket prices to just £4 for this show. Catch them while you can before the band moves into the big league.
Canteen boss Gary Robinson said: “We have done three big shows in three days before but with is one of the best line-ups we have had. All three acts are of different genres so it should work well and at just £18 (advance) for all three shows it has to be one of the best value weekends of the year. Each show should not be missed. I read a review of The Airborne Toxic Event in the NME this week and they were comparing the band’s performance at York to that of The Sex Pistols at Manchester’s Free Trade Hall.
Tickets £4 from the usual places
