Sat 26th July - Danny McNamara

The lead singer in one of the UK’s top indie bands heads north this weekend to perform one of his acclaimed DJ sets.

Danny McNamara, frontman with Embrace, will be playing the canteen this sat.

McNamara formed Embrace in the mid-nineties with 4 friends, including younger brother Richard, in their native West Yorkshire.

The bands debut album, The Good Will Out, hit the coveted Number 1 spot in the UK charts in 1998 and featured a clutch of hit singles including Come Back To What You Know and All You Good Good People.

The following 2 albums, Drawn From Memory & If You’ve Never Been, both charted inside the UK top 10 but failed to deliver the success of their debut and the band found themselves dropped from their record label in 2002.

The band made a miraculous comeback in 2004 with the Chris Martin-penned single Gravity, which catapulted Embrace back into the eye of
the British record buying public and the UK top 10.

The subsequent album Out Of Nothing hit the top spot in the UK album chart, as did the next album This New Day, cementing the bands place as one of the country’s biggest bands.

Never ones to be idle, Danny and Richard formed the Embrace DJ’s in the early 2000’s and built up a sizable fan base thanks to their eclectic DJ sets around the country.

It starts at 8 and is £8 advance (prob more on the door)

Don't forget the free shuttle bus service too
