So we've got at least 3 festivals in the area this year. Here's the lowdown on them so far
Furness Fest 18th July - 20th July 2008
FurnessFest 2008 Music and Arts Festival is now licensed with a 2500 capacity. The event will be based around Sinkfall Farm, Rakesmoor Lane, Barrow in Furness, South Cumbria.
FurnessFest has quickly evolved into a real event, brought to life by public demand. It has been produced by ordinary Furness music lovers, for the enjoyment and benefit of the Furness people. With enough initial support, it is hoped that FurnessFest will quickly establish itself as THE once yearly live music event for the Furness area, inspiring and promoting both present and future local musicians.
A mix of over 60 local and national perfomers are interested in playing FurnessFest 2008 from two planned stages and bookings are now commencing. FurnessFest will also host a dance tent, with guest DJ's from all over the North West making appearances.
Camping and parking space will be allocated and the site is fully licensed for alcohol and late night entertainment.

No real info yet from these guys but they are after artists
"we're on the look-out for bands, singer songwriters, folk troops, DJs MCs and magicians - anything that entertains! - to take to the stage (and field) at this years Kendal Calling festival. This is where you can help! Have you seen anything recently that's made you laugh, weep or just nod you head in a contented way? Anything that could be re-located to a festival field or stage?Where it be a local band or a rope juggler from the Ukraine, let us know and we'll try our best, within reason, to get it booked."
